Remote sensing and geology "Surveying the GEOsphere"
نویسنده
چکیده
The main subject of the workshop will be the use of remote sensing in Geology. Paper contributions are expected to focus on RS and GIS applications on: Full texts of all the presentations oral and posters will be included in the Proceedings CD of the workshop. Workshops proceedings are published regularly and have a unique ISBN number. The proceedings of the previous workshop can be downloaded from the SIG site. The authors should submit their paper until the 15th of June in order to be published in the Workshop Proceedings. Selected papers presented during the workshop will be included in special issues of international journals after peer review. Authors interested in having their paper published in international journals have two options: EARSeL E-proceedings The format should follow the instructions to authors for the respective journals, while all submitted manuscripts will be subject to peer review through the normal refereeing process and, if accepted, they will be published in the journals. More infos can be found on the SIG Website.

Environmental sensitivity of flash flood hazard using geospatial techniques
Flash flood has been increasing in the Khartoum area, Sudan due to geographical conditions and climatic change as heavy rainfall and high temperature, therefore the present work tried to estimate the sensitivity of flash flood. The present work proposes an advanced technique of flood sensitivity mapping using the method of analytical hierarchy process. Ten factors as elevation, slope, distance ...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Lineaments and Faults in the Alborz Province by Remote Sensing
The studied region in this research (Alborz province) is structurally located in Alborz poly_orogenic system of northern Iran. The purpose of this research is combining the remote sensing and geology sciences to show fault lineaments by analyzing satellite data in a vast region and also comparison between lineaments layer and recognized faults in geology maps. Firstly, two scenes of Landsat ETM...
متن کاملMapping the Potential of Groundwater Resources in Hard Formations Using Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing, Case Study: Northwest of Shahroud
In recent years, rapid population growth has led to increase per capita water use in various sectors including agriculture and industry and a growing gap between water demand and water supply has emerged. Therefore, identifying and tracking changes in groundwater resources as an alternative and reliable source of surface water resources are so important to region located in the Middle East with...
متن کاملLow Cost UAV-based Remote Sensing for Autonomous Wildlife Monitoring
In recent years, developments in unmanned aerial vehicles, lightweight on-board computers, and low-cost thermal imaging sensors offer a new opportunity for wildlife monitoring. In contrast with traditional methods now surveying endangered species to obtain population and location has become more cost-effective and least time-consuming. In this paper, a low-cost UAV-based remote sensing platform...
متن کاملDiscrimination of Quaternary iron placer deposits by integrating remote sensing band ratio, magnetometry and geology data by weighted overlay index method compared to SAM and FCC methods in 1:100000 sheet of Hamedan
Abstract Quaternary placer deposits are becoming increasingly important. Remote sensing is a very powerful tool in discriminating altered areas related to intrusion deposits, which has significantly reduced the cost and time of exploration. In this study, to identify iron-bearing alluvial zones within the 1:100000 sheet of Hamedan, satellite image processing techniques such as band ratio (BR),...
